The road construction project in Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll has reached 87 percent completion.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) took the progress of the project to Twitter, revealing that the construction of major roads on the island is well underway.
MTCC has completed asphalt work for the roads as well. As such, a total of 19 roads measuring up to 22,942 square meters have been tarred.
Contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and infrastructure, the road development project was mobilized on April 22, last year.
MTCC revealed that they are currently working to install street lights and a pump station under the scope of the project.
The project is valued at MVR 34.4 million.
