Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing is now available for travellers in five hospitals, including in the north and south regions.
While countries have begun lifting lockdowns implemented following the global pandemic, some require visitors to provide PCR test reports.
Hence, PCR tests are now available in three hospitals in the capital -Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumalé- as well as Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital in the north and the Addu Equatorial Hospital in southernmost Addu City.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that samples must be provided 48 hours prior to departure and that a copy of travel itinerary and other required items must be provided.
While PCR testing has been made available in five hospitals, Covid-19 treatment facilities were established across five regions recently as well.
