Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested two individuals in connection to the rape case of a woman with special needs, in southernmost Addu City.

The authority initially launched investigations into the case on July 31, after receiving the report of a 48-year-old woman with special needs falling victim to sexual assault, on Friday morning.

Arrested in connection to the case are a 19-year-old and a 30-year-old, both men.
