An official at the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), has tested positive for Covid-19.
While reports indicate that the association’s lawyer has tested positive for the virus, FAM staff as well as some reporters that attended its congress meeting last Thursday, have been placed under home quarantine for a 14-day period.
The lawyer has been moved to a quarantine facility.
Hence, while FAM officials were presented to the parliament’s committee on social affairs for questioning on Thursday, the lawyer participated in the meeting via videoconferencing.
The association's president, Bassan Adeel Jaleel, attended the meeting.
While FAM’s general elections were held at the congress meeting held last Thursday, Bassam was reelected as president.
