Parliament’s committee on state owned enterprises has decided to summon officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), over the delay in completing investigations.
The decision was made at a meeting held on Wednesday, after noting the delays in completing the investigations into three cases being reviewed by the committee.
The three cases are; MACL's controversial seaplane terminal deal with a company in the interest of the company and the decision to halt a project of Island Aviation, as well as a case involving Maldive Gas.
Central-Fuvahmulah constituency MP Hussain Mohamed Didi proposed to summon officials from ACC at Wednesday’s meeting, highlighting the anti-corruption body has failed to compile a report on the Maldive Gas issue despite it being over nine months since.
The lawmaker said that such delays “are irresponsible”.
Other lawmakers at the meeting supported MP Didi’s proposal.
