195 Maldivians have been repatriated from Malaysia.
The country’s national airline, Maldivian repatriated the 195 Maldivians from Kuala Lampur on Monday night.
The airline revealed that they are working closely with the government to bring Maldivians back home from several regions across the globe.
Maldivian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Visam Ali visited the passengers of the repatriation flight before they departed. The Maldivian High Commission in Malaysia expressed appreciation to the foreign ministries of both countries as well as Malaysia’s immigration department and Maldivian for the collaborative efforts to repatriate over 100 Maldivians.
The Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that about 450 Maldivians stranded in Malaysia have registered for repatriation.
Another repatriation flight has also been scheduled from Malaysia, for Wednesday.
The foreign ministry revealed that work is underway to repatriate more Maldivians from several other countries in the future.
