Changes have been brought to the service hours for businesses in southernmost Addu City.
In an announcement the city council revealed that the changes have been brought in accordance with an announcement recently made by the Ministry of Economic Development regarding the matter, as well as the instructions of the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The council revealed that shops that have the required permit through the social support desks stationed in their respective districts, are allowed to operate from 6am to 6pm every day.
Operating outside of these hours is not allowed and delivery services have also been banned during these times.
Further, the announcement reads that cafés and restaurants are permitted to remain open for services from 6am to 10pm and that they will not be allowed to operate during the remainder of the night.
However, businesses that have the permit to operate on a round-the-clock basis have the opportunity to do so, they are required to adhere to safety guidelines and instructions penned by the council while operating services.
