Financial institutions will continue service on the 28th May despite being declared a public holiday on occassion of Eid-al-Fitr, the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has said.
A statement from the MMA said that institutions regulated by it would provide and receive financial services between the hours of 10:30 and 13:00. It will accept documents and other applications between these hours as well.
MMA will conduct money exchanges, involving small denominator notes and coins, from between 10:30 to 12:00.
Last week, the President's Office announced that the two consecutive days following that on which the Eid-al-Fitr is projected to fall on will be a public holiday.
