103 Maldivians stranded in three countries are to arrive in the Maldives on Sunday morning.

This includes 48 students in Belarus, 23 from the United Kingdom and 32 from Sri Lanka.

Authorities had earlier this week announced the repatriation of the Maldivians stranded in Belarus and UK. While they are to travel via a flight of the Sri Lankan national airline, the flight is to transit at Colombo and pickup 32 Maldivians before arriving at Velana International Airport.

Citing the foreign ministry, the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz said that those being repatriated from Sri Lanka include individuals being provided assistance by the government as well as those in need of special medical care and their helpers.

The students travelling from Belarus arrived in London on Friday night.

The flight is to land at VIA at 8:55am on Sunday.

Mabrook also noted that the ministry is working to conduct more repatriation flights from Lanka.
