The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has facilitated the transfer of a sickly elder in Maamigili island of Alif Dhaal atoll, to the capital, Malé City.

The authority revealed that the 63-year-old Maldivian man was being treated at the island’s health center when his health deteriorated upon which a team of the MNDF Malé Area Coast Guard Squadron assisted his transfer to the capital, on a CG sea ambulance on Thursday.

The man was successfully transferred to the capital city, a little past 9am on Thursday and transferred to a hospital in the capital, revealed MNDF.

This comes at the time the Maldives Meteorological Service has urged caution when travelling, after the general weather forecast showed that seas are expected to be rough across the entirety of Maldives.

Further, swell wave surges are also possible during high tides.
