Another Bangladeshi national has been stabbed in Guraidhoo island of Thaa atoll.

The stabbed individual, another migrant worker in the island, is currently being treated at the island’s health center.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they are yet to make any arrests in connection to the stabbing in the island, that killed a Bangladeshi worker early Thursday, as well as the second case.

The island council revealed that the man’s body was discovered near an agricultural land on the island on Wednesday night, by another migrant worker.

Police media official revealed that the stabbing was reported to the authority at around 1am, Thursday.

An official from the island council told RaajjeMV that the man was stabbed two to three times and the case was reported to authorities, immediately. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the health center.

The other case of a stabbing was reported to the police a little past 3am on Thursday and the wounded is to have been involved in the stabbing of the murder victim.

Police have since launched further investigations into both cases, however, no arrests have been made thus far.

The authority revealed that this is the first such death reported to them thus far this year.
