Over 130 frontline workers battling Covid-19 have tested positive for the virus in the Maldives.
This was revealed at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s Covid-19 press briefing on Wednesday night, by Dr. Ibrahim Afzal.
Noting that 137 frontline workers have tested positive for Covid-19, the doctor said that these comprise of healthcare workers as well security workers including people who work at point of entries.
While Dr. Afzal also shared these statistics from April 16 to May 12, he did not specify the areas in which the cases were detected.

As per these statistics, most number of frontline workers tested positive on April 29 and May 8; 22 and 47 cases, respectively.
While Dr. Afzal did not reveal the clusters which the cases belong too, he highlighted that some belong to the biggest clusters identified. Contact tracing is still underway.
