Maldivian authorities are working on ‘new normal’ rules.

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s Medica Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Afzal revealed this at Monday night’s press briefing.

He said that they are currently working on guidelines for ‘new normal’, adding that these will be shared with the press after finalization.

The center’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz that the new normal will be introduced “in phases,” adding that the rules are being drafted at this stage.

Further noting that they have identified areas that need to be focused on, Mabrook said that there are separate teams assigned to each area.

Movement restriction measures put in place to contain the coronavirus pandemic are being eased in phases across different countries across the world.

They did not disclose when the easing of restrictions will begin.

Maldives' capital has been on lockdown since the detection of a community transmission on April 15, with unauthorized between islands, in any part of the country, banned. The country halted flights on March 27.
