Maldive Gas has disclosed their daily average of deliveries within the Greater Malé Region.

In a special interview on RaajjeTV’s Covid-19 Coverage, the Managing Director of Maldive Gas, Ali Ikram revealed that they deliver an average of 900 – 1,000 on a daily basis in the region.

Ikram urged the people to remain patient during these challenging times and added that they are working to introduce “cash-less” services in the coming days.

Introducing this initiative will ensure the company’s services are boosted and provided swiftly.

Ikram noted that the company has had to face challenges in their work, especially after an employee from Hulhumalé tested positive for Covid-19 and all of their employees in the suburbs had to go into quarantine. Due to this, a number of their employees in Malé had to be transferred to the suburbs to ensure services do not come to a halt.

Highlighting that about 15 employees were quarantined, Ikram stated that samples have been collected from all of them and stressed that the company’s delivery services have slowed down since then. As such, while the delivery team took as little as 15 minutes to deliver a gas cylinder upon receiving an order before, they currently take up to three hours to complete the delivery.

Further, Ikram stated that they are working to resolve the issues in the delivery system in outlying atolls, in the coming days.

This comes at a time the company has been implementing several precautionary measures for the safety of their front-line employees and in light of this, the company has urged individuals to place their order online.

Arrangements have also been made for customers to make payments online.

In addition, those who cannot acquire web order service has been urged to reach out through their call center hotline 1616 for orders.
