From a Covid-19 preparedness drill held in the capital prior to the detection of a community transmission

10 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the Maldives.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced this via Twitter, adding that these are six Bangladeshis and four Maldivians.

This pushes the country's total Covid-19 case count to 744.

86 new cases were announced earlier on Friday.
