Four out of the five men that fled from the Herethera Quarantine Facility have been caught.

Police had said that it received a report that five Maldivians had fled the quarantine facility established in the south, late Wednesday evening. One of them had already been caught then.

Another three were caught not long after, and police continue the hunt for the fifth person.

Refusing to go into quarantine and fleeing from a facility is a violation of the Public Health Act. Further, unauthorized travel between islands have been banned following the detection of a Covid-19 community transmission, and those found to be violating this order are placed under police custody.
