An 88-year-old Covid-19 patient has been placed on a ventilator, following complications.

This was revealed at the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC)’s daily press conference on Sunday night.

While NEOC's medical officer Dr. Ibrahim Afzal revealed that the patient has been placed on ventilator, Dr. Mohamed Ali elaborated further on the case.

As such, he said that the man was placed on ventilator on Sunday afternoon due to breathing difficulties and that his condition has not deteriorated since being placed on ventilator.

There are five others currently admitted at DH11 at Dharumavantha excluding the patient that was moved to another floor following negative test results.

Those currently admitted there include four men and one woman.

Two of them, an 80-year-old man and 48-year-old man, are being given oxygen support and Dr. Afzal noted that the latter’s condition is stable at Sunday's press conference.

The remaining patients currently hospitalized are a 69-year-old man and 70-year-old woman, with the doctor stressing that they are “stable”.

While Dr. Afzal noted that 48-year-old hospitalized patient is a foreigner, he did not specify his nationality. However, it was previously revealed that a Pakistani man is among those hospitalized.
