Seven new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the Maldives thus far on Friday.

They are five Maldivians (four women including a five-year-old girl and one man) as well as two Bangladeshi nationals.

179 new cases were announced on Thursday alone. 95 of these were reported on Thursday evening and are from the same location identified as a vulnerable house, while 72 cases announced later in the night was also from such a house.

A total of 475 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the country thus far, with over 600 samples pending.
