One of the Pakistani nationals that tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives, had visited three different hospitals prior to testing positive for Covid-19.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz said that he had visited ADK Hospital, Treetop Hospital and Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
He is to have visited ADK Hospital first, with a fever, and eight contacts were identified and tested. Mabrook said that their test results had come back negative.
The man then went to Treetop Hospital in Hulhumalé, twice. Authorities are awaiting the test results of four contacts that were identified from there.
All contacts are in isolation.
Furthermore, Mabrook said that the man was tested for Covid-19 after consulting at IGMH and that he was admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital after results came back positive.
Two Pakistani nationals have tested positive for Covid-19; a 22-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man.
Authorities on Monday revealed that a 48-yo Pakistani is among the three Covid-19 patients hospitalized currently, and that he is the only currently requiring oxygen treatment.
While 250 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the country thus far, 99 are Maldivians and 151 are foreigners.
