Total of Covid-19 cases in Maldives surpasses 200

An additional 23 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the Maldives.
Dr. Ibrahim Afzal revealed that an additional 23 people have tested positive at the Covid-19 taskforce’s daily press conference on Sunday night.
With the new cases, 73 cases have been confirmed within 24 hours. This is the highest number of cases reported in a day in the country.
While Dr. Afzal did not reveal details of the 23 new cases, he said that the previous 50 cases reported include 11 cases which are yet to be linked to any previous clusters while the remaining are connected to five known clusters.
36 of the cases were announced early Sunday morning, while the remaining were 14 were reported in the evening.
A total of 214 Covid-19 cases have now been confirmed in the Maldives.
