A second contact of the confirmed Covid-19 patient from the capital has tested positive.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that a third person has tested positive in Malé, adding that this is "a direct contact" of the first patient announced earlier on Wednesday morning.
While this is the second contact of the individual that tested positive, the first contact is their child; a toddler. 10 other samples of direct contacts came back negative, while 14 are being transferred to an isolation facility after developing Covid-19 like symptoms.
This is the 23rd positive Covid-19 case in the country, and the third case within the last 24 hours.
