Lockdown violators will be quarantined at a facility for 14-days, warns Assistant Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen.
In response to a reporter at a press conference held at the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) on Wednesday, Naveen stated that the 24-hour lockdown will be enforced more strictly.
There will be no more leniency and those who get caught violating the lockdown will be sent to a quarantine facility for 14-days, said Naveen.
He stated that phone numbers of essential service providers will be publicised soon and that arrangements have been made with gas and water suppliers. Only come to Male' city if required, said Naveen, while urging vessels en-route to the city to dock at the nearest port.
Over 200 people had violated stay at home orders on the last day of curfew, which had been implemented for a week effective from April 2nd.
Male City is under a 24-hour lockdown following the discovery of a positive Covid-19 case from the capital.
