A 5th Maldivian has tested positive for novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a Maldivian quarantined at Eriyadhu Island Resort Facility had tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from the Philippines.
HPA made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday morning.
Four Maldivians had previously tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from the UK; This is the fifth Maldivian to test positive.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Maldives is 20. 13 have since recovered. Two cases were confirmed positive after departing the country.
