215 curfew violations have been recorded on Wednesday.
Police reveal that the 215 violations include 177 locals and 38 foreigners.
Highlighting that the curfew is only 3 hours long (from 5 to 8 pm), police have urged the public to respect regulations.
Authorities imposed the curfew starting 12pm last Thursday, and violators will be issued a warning if they are seen out on the roads, the first time around. Repeat violators will be fined up to MVR 1,000.
The curfew was announced in the capital indefinitely by the Director-General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakuru.
