49 people are set to be released from quarantine if test results return negative, says spokesperson for the government's Covid-19 taskforce, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz.

Speaking at the National Emergency Operations Centre's (NEOC) daily press briefing held on Friday night, Mabrook stated that a number of individuals under quarantine will be released on Saturday if test results return negative.

This includes a total of 49 people, said Mabrook.

Families of those released from quarantine are advised to send only one person to pick them up, said Mabrook, stating that this is to discourage public gatherings.

The Maldives began placing all inbound passengers under a 14-day quarantine on March 21st. There are a total of 881 people under quarantine up to date.
