Three airports across the Maldives have suspended 24/7 operations in connection to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, 24-hour airport operations have been reduced to 12-hours. Flight activity has also been limited and is only allowed during the day.
As such, service hours of Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Kaadehdhoo Airport and Fuvahmulah Airport will be from 6 am to 6 pm, effective from April 1st.
In the case of medical evacuation during night-time, airline operators must inform the airport three hours prior.
Airport operations have come to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping across the globe. While international flights have been suspended temporarily, domestic flights have also significantly reduced.
