Two more resorts have been placed under isolation following the emergence of suspected cases of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19)s.
This was revealed via a press conference on Friday night, where the government’s spokesperson for all things Covid-19, Mabrook Aziz revealed that Residence Maldives Dhigurah and Filitheyo Island Resort have been placed under monitoring following the discovery of suspected cases.
As such, an emergency response team will be taking samples from two Maldivians in Residence Maldives who developed Covid-19-like symptoms.
In addition, one expatriate and a Maldivian from Filitheyo will also be tested for the virus.
Contract tracing is currently underway and all four individuals have been placed under home-isolation.
Up until Friday, a total of 863 samples have been taken out of which 842 tested negative to the disease and 16 tested positive.
The total number of recovered patients in the Maldives is at nine, who are undergoing a 30-day isolation period and the remaining five are being treated.
Mabrook further revealed that there are 18 individuals in isolation at Velidhu Island Resort and three in Dharumavantha Hospital and a total of 751 in quarantine facilities.
There are currently no individuals quarantined in Hulhulé Island Hotel and Kandima Maldives, however, there are 64 in Fun Island Resort which has a 50-person capacity, 45 in Biyaadhoo, 113 in Kuda Bandos which has a 95-person capacity, 32 in Dhiggiri, 150 in Holiday Island Resort which has a 139-person capacity, 43 in Embudu Island Resort, 188 in Royal Quarantine which has a 140-person capacity and 98 in Maduvvari.
