Anantara Dhigu has been placed under monitoring once again, as authorities conduct tests on two Maldivians and a foreigner.
At Sunday’s press conference, government spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz said that the resort has been placed under monitoring “until isolation work concludes”.
Two people have tested positive for Covid-19 from Anantara Dhigu.
In addition to this resort, two others are still under monitoring; Veligandu Island Resort and Cinnamon Hakuraa Hura Maldives.
Authorities are working to lift measures on Adaaran Club Rannalhi and Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa after test results came back negative, as well as the Sri Lankan cargo vessel “Alion”.
Noting that a crewmember from Alion that showed Covid-19 like symptoms have tested negative, Mabrook said that he is currently under quarantine in Hulhule’ Island Hotel. Mabrook added that the boat will be allowed to leave the country, as soon as monitoring measures are lifted.
While an order to quarantine all incoming passengers was issued on Saturday, this does not include tourists. They will be allowed to travel to their resort destination from the airport, and travel between resorts and inhabited islands have been halted as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.
A total of 204 tourists are to have arrived in the Maldives on Saturday.
