Two Maldivian nationals who were taken into isolation after exhibiting Covid-19 like symptoms have tested negative.
This was revealed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Monday.
One of the nationals was taken into isolation from capital city's suburban district, Hulhumalé on Sunday while the other was isolated after return from Spain after transiting elsewhere.
The Maldivian taken from Hulhumalé was identified as a direct contact of one of the two positive patients from Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and is to have developed Covid-19-like symptoms within the past two days.
Qatar Airways flight QR674 in which the individual traveled in was placed under monitoring after landing at Velana International Airport on Sunday evening, after a Maldivian showed symptoms.
While Spain is one of the countries the Maldivian government has imposed temporary travel restrictions on, 11 other were placed under home-isolation after being identified as direct contacts of the said individual.
HPA on Monday said that another Maldivian that returned from Spain is being transferred to Farukolhufushi Isolation Facility for tests and monitoring; this individual is to have developed Symptoms after returning to Maldives.
While 13 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives, they are all foreigners; nine from Italy, and one each from Turkey, United Kingdom, Iran and South Africa.
