Qatar Airways flight under monitoring due to passenger with Covid-19 like symptoms

A flight from Qatar Airways that landed on Sunday evening at Velana International Airport (VIA) has been placed under monitoring following the discovery of a passenger with Covid-19 like symptoms.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, the government's Covid-19 spokesperson, Mabrook Aziz has confirmed that the flight is indeed under monitoring status. He stated that the passenger has been isolated but did not disclose their nationality or any further information, adding that he will announce it later.
So far, a total of 13 people have tested positive for the infection; they are all foreigners.
The Maldives declared a State of Health Emergency on Thursday, following which schools have been closed for an additional week, while public gatherings have been banned for two weeks, effective on Saturday.
