Covid-19: MWSC donates one ton of water to every household
Customers will receive 33 litres of water daily or six bottles of five litres per day for free
The 30-day program is one of MWSC's CSR projects

Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has arranged for one ton of water from all bills to be given free of charge.

MWSC stated that the company's objective is to fulfill their social responsibility by providing assistance to the government's efforts against the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Highlighting the importance of regular hand-washing as a preventive measure against the virus as recommended by medical experts, MWSC stated that the move aims to encourage customers to practice good hygiene.

Further, they urged customers to refrain from wasting water while hand washing and other hygienic practices.

MWSC currently has a total of 44،033 customers, who will all receive one ton of water free of charge for a 30-day period. This amount to 33 litres of water daily or six bottles of five litres per day.

MWSC stated that this corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme will be effective as of March 12 for a period of thirty days.

The programme is estimated to cost approximately MVR three million.
