Covid-19: HPA taking samples from foreigner in Iru Veli following symptoms

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that they are testing samples from a foreign national in Sun Aqua Iru Veli Resort.

The reveal was made via Twitter late Wednesday.

The authority began taking samples as a precautionary measure after the foreign national began displaying symptoms of the fatal disease.

It has also been confirmed that monitoring mechanisms are in place until the test results come through.

While temporary restrictive measures were imposed on three resorts where cases earlier surfaced, the measures have since been lifted.

The first confirmed cases emerged from Kuredu Island Resort, from where four cases were confirmed, the other two are Kuramathi Island Resort and Sandies Bathala Maldives.
