TC Sports Club has made the semifinals in the ongoing FA Cup, after beating Club Eydhafushi by a large margin in the first match of the quarter finals held on Thursday.

The celebrated team won the match held at Galolhu Stadium 13 – 0.

Just 13 minutes into the match, Ishan Ibrahim, a rising star in Maldives football, scored a hattrick, having scored his first goal 10 seconds into the game.

Football star Ali Ashfaq who recently rejoined the team during the transfer market, scored four goals for the team and foreign player Malcolm Stewart also scored a hattrick.

The other players who scored for the team in the exciting game are Ismail ‘Messi’ Eesa and Ahmed Farrah.

Speaking after the match, coach Mohamed Shaazlee revealed that they were not expecting to win by such a large margin, however, he is satisfied by the team’s performance. Shaazlee added that this result will prove beneficial for the upcoming AFC Cup.

While the Eydafushi team went head-to-head with TC for the first time in Thursday’s match, coach Abdul Majeed Hassan stated that the players performed well.

The FA Cup kicked off on Thursday after a long hiatus and is one of the most recognized tournaments in the country. In the second match of the quarter finals, Maziya Sports and Recreation Club will go against Club Green Streets.

The premier knockout tournament will advance to qualify for the AFC Cup and was initiated during 1988.
