Preparations are underway to issue parking slots in the “Alimas” Carnival region of capital city Malé, under a set fee, revealed the City Council.
The council revealed that the arrangements are being made for four-wheeled vehicles and that they have opened the opportunity for individuals to seek a permit for parking in the carnival region.
Applications will be accepted from Sunday, through 1 March. Forms will be made available through the council secretariat.
Further, the council notes that 52 parking slots will be issued after the protocol comes into effect and that a fee of MVR 3,000 will be taken from individuals who request for a parking permit during the given deadline, per month.
Interested individuals may acquire forms through the council secretariat between 8am to 2pm on working days, as well as through the council’s officialwebsite.
In addition, filled out applications will be accepted from 9am to 1pm on working days. Applicants will receive a copy of the information sheet regarding issuing parking zones in the carnival region.
The decision comes at a time the city council has also reached the decision to issue parking spots in the zone in front of Theemuge, for a set fee.
It was earlier revealed that the council had established parking zones across 11 regions of the capital city between 2019 to the beginning of 2020.
Said zones have a 80 – 400 vehicle capacity.
