Skilled local coach Ali Nisthar Mohamed has been appointed as Head Coach of Club Green Streets.
The appointment was made following the annulment of the club’s agreement with coach Ali Suzain, who was recently appointed Assistance Coach of the Maldives National Football Team.
Making the reveal via Twitter, Green revealed that Nisthar’s appointment became official after a special ceremony held at Petral Park on Thursday night.
The club’s Twitter post reads that the team expects great days ahead with Nisthar, who previously served as Foakaidhoo FC’s coach, as part of the team.
Further, Green stated that Nisthar’s philosophy combined with his “passionate” approach to football makes him “the most ideal” person to ensure the progress of the club.
Nisthar performed very well during the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League of 2017 with a team of players from Maalhos island in Alif Alif atoll. The former coach of Foakaidhoo FC resigned after the DPL this year, with the team remaining sixth on the points table.
Green is set to compete in two competitions during this ongoing season; the FA Cup and President’s Cup.
Although Green was prepared for this ongoing season with a strong squad, the team had let some players go due to financial challenges. Green was on the fourth spot of the points table when this year’s DPL came to an end.
