Former national team player, Ibrahim “Oppo” Fazeel will be seen in New Radiant Sports Club (NRSC) during this year’s football season.

NRSC’s general secretary Ahmed Niyaz has confirmed to RaajjeMV that Oppo has officially signed with the club.

Oppo joined the club’s practices on Sunday, after days of speculation that he will join NRSC. Reports indicated that Oppo was being approached by another local club as well.

The mid-fielder was last seen with Bodorgan FC in the Anglesey League in Wales, after becoming the first Maldivian to play for an European side.

While it is not clear on how long his contract is, RaajjeMV understands that the 36-year-old intends to play for NRSC before retiring from football.

Oppo, who started out his career in 1999 while in school, signing with his first club, New Lagoons, the same year. Since then, he has played for a number of teams, including New Radiant from 2004 to 2006.
