A special audit has been carried out, over the decision to increase the pay of some senior officials at the government-owned Island Aviation Services Limited.
The audit, conducted by the Auditor General’s Office, is based on information provided by the finance ministry and the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB).
The parliament’s committee on state owned enterprises (SOE) had assigned the job to the Auditor General’s Office following a complaint by company’s employees.
While the finished report was presented to the committee on Tuesday, SOE committee chair and Hulhudhoo constituency MP Ilyas Labeeb said that the committee will conclude its work on the matter by February 19.
The committee will present the Auditor General to clarify certain matters, prior to making a decision; this is to be done on Wednesday.
Furthermore, it will give Island Aviation the opportunity to respond via writing.
