President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ahmed Saleem of Maahura, Maafanu ward as Ambassador-at-large
The appointment was officiated during a special ceremony held on Wednesday morning at the President’s Office.
Saleem previously served as the Ambassador of the Maldives to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan prior to his appointment.
Saleem's career in the Maldivian Foreign Service (MFS) spans over 21 years. Notable highlights include participating in several sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, high-level meetings of the Commonwealth, Non-Aligned Movement, OIC, SAARC, and numerous other international organizations.
Additionally, Saleem also acted in the role of the 11th Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) from 2012 to 2014.
