Local telecommunications provider Ooredoo Maldives has signed on as a partner with the “GOLD 100 2020” business awards.

The GOLD 100 Gala, the most prestigious business-networking awards in the nation, confers the awards to 100 companies selected among over 13,000 business companies in the Maldives and is the only one of its kind.

While this is the fourth edition of the awards, this is the second time the telecom giant in participating as a gold partner, having been assigned the gold partner for 2019’s edition as well.

The agreement was signed by Director of Sales Distribution and Brand, Hussain Niyaz on behalf of Ooredoo and Dr Hussain Umar signing on behalf of Orca Media Group.

Hosted by Corporate Maldives in collaboration with Orca Media Group, two Lifetime Achievement awards will also be conferred at the GOLD 100 2020. Winners of the award in 2019 were Founder and Chairman of "Villa Group", Qasim Ibrahim and Chairman of "Triple A" Abdulla Ali.

The Lifetime Achievement award recognizes visionary business leaders who contributed significantly to the business community.

All nominees for the awards are required to meet the set criteria of being registered as a 100 percent Maldivian company and having acquired an income of MVR 10 million during 2016. The selection criterion for the award ensures full transparency and is not biased so as to reflect that the entities on the list are the Maldives top 100 companies.

At the ceremony where the GOLD 100 magazine is to be unveiled, the GOLD 100 companies are to be presented with an award. The invitation-only networking event brings together top executives of the Maldives business community and is based on a list of leading 100 businesses in the country, publicized by Corporate Maldives annually.

This year’s awards will be held at Dharubaaruge.
