Ooredoo Maldives and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has entered an agreement to build a headquarters for the telecommunications service in Hulhumalé.
Vikram Singha, CEO of Ooredoo’s Maldivian branch, and HDC’s Managing Director, Mohamed Saiman had both signed the agreement on Thursday.
Upon the construction of said offices, Ooredoo wil become the first international corporation to have a headquarters in Hulhumalé, the capital’s fast-growing urban extension.
Singha expressed his confidence that the headquarters, which he said would fully utilize the comparatively larger space, would also develop the corporation’s services and increase the capacity of its employees.
He further said that Ooredoo Maldives intends to instill an ‘open-office-culture’ in its employees and foster camaraderie within its hierarchy.
Mohamed Shahid, the company’s Director of Human Resources, said that the building would be constructed within eighteen months.
The headquarters will have a fitness center, a café, and a day care center.
Ooredoo Maldives and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) had entered an agreement earlier this month, under which the company would provide discounts for guesthouse-related activity.
As per the agreement, Ooredoo will offer special discounts to products and services relevant to guesthouse business’ connectivity.
