Table-topper in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League, Maziya Sports Club has effortlessly beat Foakaidhoo FC in Tuesday’s match,

Maziya moved closer to the league trophy after beating Foakaidhoo FC 7 – 0 during the match held at the Galolhu Football Stadium.

The winning team’s attack game was strong even at the beginning of the game, having taken the lead at the 18th minute of the game with a score by Ibrahim Mahdhy,

Following the first score, Maziya directed several relentless attacks to Foakaidhoo’s goal keeper, one of which was successful before the first half ended.

The second half began with a score of 2 – 0 and Maziya players reinforced its attacks further with its foreign player Stewart succeeding in an attempt to score at the 59th minute.

On a roll, Stewart scored his second goal at the 60th minute and scored a hattrick at the 81st minute of the game. The final score by Maziya was at the 89th minute by Mohamed Irfan.

Speaking after the match, Foakaidhoo coach stated that the team was unprepared for the match after the major changes to the players during the transfer market. The coach expressed hope that the team will make it to the top four teams in the points table.

With this being said, three players from Foakaidhoo FC signed onto TC Sports Club recently, along with former Green Streets player and celebrated football star Ali Ashfaq.

While Maziya had a major lead when the league began, having secured the top spot in the table with 29 points out of the first 12 matches, it remains at the top spot with 41 points. Club Eagles remains at the second spot with 33 points.

Third on the table, TC Sports has a total of 28 points and Green Streets is at its tail with 26 points.

Foakaidhoo FC falls behind at the sixth spot with 20 points.
