Councilors from Lhohi island in Noonu atoll have discussed key development plans and efforts to improve lifestyle of the island community, with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

During a meeting at the President’s Office on Sunday afternoon, discussions touched down on development efforts that are currently underway in the island.

Councilors shared difficulties surfacing for the island residents caused by a lack of space in the island mosque as well as challenges facing the island’s Health Center’s management.

Other notable issues include proper waste management services and hindrances facing residents and visitors due to the underdeveloped harbor.

Lhohi island is also facing difficulties in the provision of utilities including electricity being generated to secretariats of government offices on the island.

Having listened to the councilors’ concerns, President Solih gave his assurance that the incumbent government will work with relevant stakeholders and ministries in order to address the issues at hand and consecutively tackle the issues after thorough discussions.

Development is a key pledge of the incumbent government, and President Solih has pledge to leave no island behind in the government's development agenda.
