Dhiraagu Dhivehi League: narrow win for TC against Foakaidhoo FC

TC Sports secured a narrow victory in its match against Foakaidhoo FC in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League.
Monday’s match took place at the Galolhu Stadium in capital city Malé and TC Sports won the match 1 – 0.
While both teams showed equally good performance into the beginning of the game, TC players directed several attacks to the Foakaidhoo team. Into the 15th minute of the intense game, Foakaidhoo goal keeper had effortlessly blocked a goal attempt by TC player, Ibrahim Atheeq Hassan.
Further, TC player Ishan Ibrahim also had a golden opportunity to score during the 18th minute of the match, which was again, blocked by the Foakaidhoo keeper.
TC team stepped up their game and strengthened their attacks towards Foakaidhoo team when the second half began. The first goal attempt by TC’s Mohamed Azzam was again blocked by the opponent team, another attempt by Ishan met with failure at the 78th minute. Finally, tables turned and TC was able to secure their narrow win having scored its only goal in the 87th minute of the game, which was scored by Defender Mohamed Ajfan.
TC’s coach, Shaazlee commended the intense efforts put in by the team for a win, having expressed his satisfaction with the three points secured.
After a brief hiatus of two months, the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League began on 16th December. While the league was discontinued for several reasons throughout this year, Maziya had a major lead when the league began, having secured the top spot in the table with 29 points out of the first 12 matches. Club Eagles came second with 21 points and Green Street at its tail with 20 points. TC Sports was in the fourth spot of the table with 16 points.
