Nine complaints submitted regarding redistribution of constituencies: EC
Complaint submission opened on last Friday
Complaints were mainly regarding the seats allocated for women's development committees
Complaints also included the redistribution of Addu City and Addu City's constituencies

Elections Commission of Maldives (EC) has revealed that a total of nine complaints have been submitted regarding the re-distribution of election constituencies.

While speaking on the topic of the upcoming election on RaajjeTV's "FalaSurukhee" programme on Saturday, Elections Commission's Vice-President Ahmed Akram stated that a total of nine complaints have been submitted since the commission opened the opportunity to submit complaints regarding the redistribution of election constituencies last Friday. He revealed that these include complaints about the redistribution of Addu City and Addu City's constituencies, and especially regarding the seats allocated for women's development committees.

Akram claimed that all complaints are taken into consideration and given the same amount of attention.

As such, the Elections Commission has appealed for the public to not hesitate in submitting complaints or concerns.

Complaints must be submitted to the centre for elections (Old Jamaaludhin School) or through email at [email protected].

Additionally, the centre will be open on public holidays.
