Maldives Police Service (MPS) has conducted a raid at another “secret drug café” and made a few arrests.
RaajjeMV understands that officers raided Everest in Maafannu-ward of capital city Malé, however, further details regarding the matter has not been divulged yet.
Authorities have arrested over 37 suspects in a drug operation conducted in the capital this week where a total of five houses that were providing “drug services” under café procedure, were raided.
These services are to have been provided with the consent and approval of the landlord or proprietor.
While minors are included among those arrested, some individuals have since been released by the police and courts. As such, it is unclear on how many individuals are currently under police custody regarding the case.
10-day remands were also slapped on a man and an expatriate on Saturday, with two minors having been transferred to house arrest under certain conditions.
The operation will see strict action taken on such owners, revealed police who have since warned of action as mandated under law.
