Ooredoo has launched its annual color run weekend.
The popular annual event, scheduled to be held from November 29th- 30th, began on Friday morning in Hulhumale’.
This year, the event featured beach-based activities such as tug of war, sand art contest, bucket relay on Friday the morning in addition to a kite festival scheduled for Friday evening at central park. The latter event will be awarding the best-looking kite to participate in the festival.
After Friday's activities, the main event or the color run will begin on Saturday at 04:00pm.
Following the run, ooredoo has also arranged for a music show on Saturday night that will showcase bands such as Sky Rock, Gravity, 2 Sense, Equatic Vibe, Symbolic Records, Zakitte Live, Levitation by Habeys and Habeys Bodyberu group amongst many others.
As such, 5000 people have registered to participate in the color run. Ooredoo states that the starting line for the run will be placed near Hulhumale' ferry terminal.
Ooredoo color run aims to promote running as a gateway to a healthy lifestyle. This short 5k run caters to all ages and skill levels with a variety of fun activities planned throughout the event. Color stations are set up to celebrate every kilometer a participant covers. There is no time limit so participants are rewarded with a medal whether they run, jog or walk. Awards for most entertaining runner, fanciest male and female runner will also be given out at the end of the event.
Details of the specific activities planned for the event will be announced the week of the color run. As per previous color runs, this event is in partnership with Unix Sporting.
This event is the second color run to be held this year with the first one being held in Addu City during June.
