Meeting of the 19th Parliament Committee on National Security Services - Yoosuf Sofwan Rasheed

The investigative report on the murder of former lawmaker, Dr. Afrasheem Ali, complied by the Commission on Murders and Enforced Disappearances, has been forwarded to the 19th Parliament Committee on National Security Services for analysis.

Members of the committee finalized six areas in report for further analysis during the meeting held on Monday.

A special sub-committee has been formed to compile and prepare the necessary information required for the committee to examine these issues.

The sub-committee is comprised of the committee's Vice Chair Member and MP for Faresmaathodaa, Hussain Mohamed Latheef, MP for West Henveyru, Hassan Latheef, and MP for Maduvvari Adam Shareef.

The committee also made a unanimous decision to exclude committee member, MP for Thimarafushi, Abdulla Riyaz from the inquiry as the investigative report includes a statement by Riyaz and is, therefore, a conflict of interest.
