The Maldivian mixed doubles team and women's doubles team has advanced to the finals of the ongoing Pakistan International Series 2019.
Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq and Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq were the women's doubles pair that cleared the semi-finals with 21-16، 21-12 against Sehra Akram and Huma Javeed from Pakistan. They are set to play against Mahoor Shahzad and Bushra Gayoom in the finals.
Hussein Zayan Shaheed and Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq were the mixed doubles pair that advanced to the finals, winning two straight sets with a score of 21-14 and 21-13. They are set to play against Dipesh Dhami and Amita Giri of Nepal in the finals.
Nabeeha won the first-ever gold medal for the Maldives in badminton at the Indian Ocean Island Games in July this year.
As such, the national badminton team of Maldives has been competing in many international tournaments with great successes.
