President holds discussions with World Bank
 
The World Bank delegation disclosed details of their recent trip to Addu City and praised the administration's policies and developmental agenda, especially noting the administration’s SAP

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the visiting delegation from the World Bank to hold discussions regarding the government's development projects.

During the meeting held this morning at the President’s Office, President Solih conveyed his thanks to the World Bank for their continuous commitment to the Maldives and supporting the government's development projects.

Discussions touched on the administration's decentralization policy noting the challenges of acquiring funds for such development projects.

Furthermore, he highlighted the administration's plans to address the consequences of climate change, especially the pledge to fully phase-out single-use plastics by the year 2023.

Moreover, the administration’s efforts to address the concerns of vulnerable communities; ensuring social protection, providing access to better healthcare and creating jobs and educational opportunities for all were also discussed during the meeting alongside discussions of social housing policy and addressing income and wealth distribution.

The World Bank delegation disclosed details of their recent trip to Addu City and praised the administration's policies and developmental agenda, especially noting the administration’s Strategic Action Plan.

At the end of the meeting, the World Bank delegation gave assurance of their commitment and both parties guaranteed future cooperation.
