Construction of the new powerhouse in Uligamu has been contracted to Two L Construction Pvt Ltd.

The managing director of Fenaka Corporation Limited, Ahmed Saeed, signed the agreement during a special ceremony held on Thursday, while Two L Construction's managing director Ali Ibrahim Rasheed signed the agreement on the company's behalf.

Hoarafushi constituency MP Ahmed Saleem, who also represent Uligamu, attended the ceremony as well.

According to the agreement, the work has been contracted to start on November 13th and be completed within 170 days; on May 1st next year.

The total cost of the project is MVR 5,599,454.10 (five million, five hundred and ninety-nine thousand, four hundred and fifty-four point one rufiya).

While the waste and water management have been neglected in many of the islands across the country, the country administration aims to rectify the matter. As such, a water and waste management project was recently launched in Uligamu.
